Hello Megan and Jennifer,

It is my pleasure to write a letter of support on behalf of MLK Gandhi Project for their work in the community in workforce planning, counseling and pathways. I am fortunate enough to serve as a proud State Representative in the 30th Legislative District in Federal Way. Federal Way is home to the most diverse public high school in the country.

Our students and families speak over 120 languages in the Federal Way School District and we have an average of 75% Free/Reduced Lunch. This past year has been extremely challenging on the economic well-being of our families. In my capacity, I have witnessed Eddie and Ram and his program step up to the challenge planning for the next generation of our skilled workforce. This while also keeping time to volunteer for many youth advocacy projects within the community alongside other organizations. I am both impressed and inspired by the program’s leadership in the community in a time of great need. 

MLK Gandhi Project is not afraid to take on this new, challenging endeavor to support youth and families in the community in career pathways, counseling and digital literacy work. They also acknowledge the need for critical crosscultural skills that will enable this work with a very diverse community. The vision, tenacity, creativity, collaboration and leadership that MLK Gandhi Project has exemplified would only be further developed with more funding and resources.
