Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using A4E's website, programs, or services. By accessing our website or participating in any A4E program, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. About Americans 4 Equality

Americans 4 Equality (A4E, we, our, or us) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 85-2365649) headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. We provide 100% free tech and career training to underserved adults in Washington and Oregon. These Terms apply to our website at www.americans4equality.org, all A4E programs, digital platforms, and communications.

2. Who These Terms Cover

These Terms apply to all of the following people who interact with A4E:

●       Program Participants — people who apply to, enroll in, or express interest in any A4E program.

●       Donors — individuals or organizations who make financial contributions to A4E.

●       Volunteers and Mentors — people who volunteer time, services, or expertise.

●       Partners — employees of employer, nonprofit, or government organizations that work with A4E.

●       Website Visitors — anyone who browses www.americans4equality.org, regardless of whether they enroll or donate.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website, submitting an application, enrolling in a program, volunteering, donating, or otherwise engaging with A4E, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date. Your continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

4. Eligibility

Our programs are designed for adults 18 and older. Our Warp 1 program is open to participants ages 13–17 with verifiable written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

To be eligible for A4E programs, you must:

●       Be 18 or older (or 13–17 with parental consent for Warp 1)

●       Be a resident of Washington State or Oregon

●       Be authorized to work in the United States

●       Be able to read and write in English

●       Have basic computer skills

No high school diploma, GED, or prior work experience is required. All programs are 100% free.

A4E reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to decline or discontinue participation if eligibility requirements are not met.

5. Website Use

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use our website for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes consistent with A4E's mission. You may browse, share links, and engage with our content for informational purposes.

5.2 Prohibited Use

You may not:

●       Scrape, crawl, or harvest any data from our website using automated tools

●       Reproduce, distribute, or sell A4E content, branding, or materials without written permission

●       Impersonate A4E, its staff, or any other person

●       Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content

●       Use our website in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law

●       Interfere with the security or integrity of our website or systems

5.3 Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, program materials, and course content — is the property of Americans 4 Equality or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or republish A4E content without prior written permission.

6. Program Participation Terms

6.1 Enrollment

Enrollment in A4E programs is subject to availability and eligibility verification. Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment. A4E reserves the right to accept, defer, or decline applications at its discretion.

6.2 Participant Conduct

All program participants are expected to:

●       Engage respectfully with staff, mentors, volunteers, and fellow participants

●       Attend scheduled sessions and complete program requirements to the best of their ability

●       Use program platforms (LMS, email, SMS) only for program-related purposes

●       Keep login credentials and account information confidential

●       Report any concerns, conflicts, or accessibility needs to A4E staff promptly

6.3 Program Removal

A4E reserves the right to remove a participant from any program for conduct that violates these Terms, disrupts the learning environment, or poses a risk to staff, volunteers, or other participants. In non-emergency situations, A4E will attempt to notify the participant before removal.

6.4 No Guarantee of Employment

A4E's programs are designed to build skills and connect participants with opportunities. Participation does not guarantee job placement, certification, or any specific career outcome. Placement rates and program outcomes are reported as aggregate statistics and do not represent individual guarantees.

7. Volunteer and Mentor Terms

Volunteers and mentors participate on a voluntary, at-will basis. Either party may end the relationship at any time. By volunteering or mentoring with A4E, you agree to:

●       Maintain the confidentiality of participant information you encounter in your role

●       Comply with A4E's code of conduct and any role-specific training requirements

●       Acknowledge that A4E may conduct a background check as part of the onboarding process

●       Not represent yourself as an A4E employee or spokesperson without explicit authorization

Volunteering or mentoring with A4E does not create an employment relationship. Volunteers and mentors are not entitled to compensation, benefits, or employment protections.

8. Donor Terms

Donations to Americans 4 Equality are voluntary contributions to a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By making a donation, you acknowledge:

●       Donations are final and non-refundable, except at A4E's sole discretion in cases of documented processing error.

●       A4E will provide a donation acknowledgment receipt for tax purposes. Consult a tax advisor regarding deductibility.

●       A4E does not guarantee that donated funds will be used for any specific program or purpose beyond its general mission.

●       Payment information is processed by a PCI-compliant third-party provider. A4E does not store full payment card numbers.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may contain links to third-party sites including partner organizations, social media platforms, and government agencies. These Terms and our Privacy Policy do not apply to those external sites. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

10. Disclaimers

We do our best to keep our website accurate and our programs running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that everything will always be error-free or available. A4E's website and programs are provided as-is. We may need to update, pause, or end a program or service at any time. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information on our website.

11. Limitation of Liability

A4E is a nonprofit organization, and all of our programs are free. Because of that, if something goes wrong in connection with our website or programs, A4E's responsibility is limited. We are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable damages arising from your use of our website or participation in our programs. If you have a specific claim against A4E, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us, if anything, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

This limitation does not apply to any harm caused by A4E's own negligence or intentional wrongdoing, or to any liability that Washington State law does not allow us to limit.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State. If a dispute arises under these Terms and we cannot resolve it between us, it will be handled in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington. By using our services, you agree to that location for any legal proceedings.
